Aristocrat is a casino slot machine and software company that has been around since the early 1950s. In 2020, they are still among the most popular and widely-used land-based casino slot machine companies.  They also develop casino gaming software for their machines and online.

About Aristocrat Casino Software

The company was born in Australia in 1953 and shortly thereafter, they released their first innovative products. From 1956 to 1958 they developed the Clubmaster slot machine followed by the first-ever poker machine for casinos.

The success of these machines took the company off their home island as they expanded to Europe and Las Vegas.

As the company expanded, they kept innovating and designing other new hits. 1979’s Wild West game was a huge success in casinos, as were the Mircostar slot machines that followed.

These slot machines came out in the 80s and were so technologically advanced that, almost 40 years later, some of their gaming technology is still used today.

The company continued its phenomenal growth through the rest of the 20th century, culminating in an IPO in 1996. Helping this growth was even more stellar technology.

Their popular releases included the MK Gaming System and the Hyperlink Gaming System. The latter is considered, as they say on their website, “widely recognized as the single most valuable piece of Australian intellectual property ever commercialized”.

In the 2000s, the company saw some ups and downs but the acquisitions Aristocrat made in the 2010s have propelled them to success in the new millennium.

The companies they now own are on the cutting edge of casino software development and have helped Aristocrat evolve from a simple slot machine company to a massive casino technology company.

This evolution started in 2012 with Aristocrat producing their first “Games Development Kit (GDK)”, a standard platform for using third-party content to develop their own games.

The ensuing three key acquisitions in the gaming software space were the digital gaming company Product Madness (2013), mobile and social web-based game developer Plarium (2017), and mobile and desktop game developer Big Fish (2018).

Features

That Aristocrat moved from simply producing physical slot machine games in the 90s to include such a wide range of offerings 20 years later is pretty incredible. The company now offers a host of different types of games with a plethora of different features.

Slots, both physical and virtual, are still their bread and butter but with all their game developing subsidiaries, the company continues to grow all the time.

The slot games Aristocrat offers are wide-ranging and include many popular games. Their 3 and 5-reel video slot games are incredibly popular all over the world.

The Buffalo series is one of the most popular slot games of all time, especially in the U.S. In Asia, the award-winning Five Dragon Legends game has been a huge hit for them.

The officially licensed games they offer is one factor that sets them apart from the competition. True, they have a large quantity of these types of slot games but the quality of their titles is truly awe-inspiring. Think of some of the biggest names and properties you know in show business and Aristocrat probably holds a license with them. These titles include people and properties as disparate as The Rolling Stones, Game of Thrones, Brittney Spears, the Big Bang Theory, and more.

Through their partner companies, Aristocrat offers mobile, desktop, and social casino gaming. Product Madness has several slot games platforms such as their Heart of Vegas platform as well as the Cashman Casino, Lightning Link Casino Slots, and FaFaFa Gold. Big Fish Casino offers players even more than slots with games like blackjack, Texas Hold’em poker, roulette, and more.

These companies, along with their other gaming division, Plarium, offer a wide selection of non-casino games for all including mobile, browser, multiplayer, and RPG among others.

Top Aristocrat Casino Software Games

As mentioned above,  Aristocrat offers all different styles of games. However, slots games are what they still do best. Here is a look at some of their most popular titles.

Buffalo Stampede

You can’t have any list of Aristocrat games without Buffalo Stampede. It is a traditional 5-reel slot machine with bold big-game animal graphics and a poker-style combination theme. It has one of the better RTP (Return to Player) you will find on a casino floor or online casino. In 2014, it was the best-selling slot game.

Walking Dead

There are many officially licensed TV show properties we could go with here but this game was named “Casino Product of the Year” in 2014. This is a dynamic 5-reel video slot with amazing and super-realistic animation from the show. The pay lines increase upward as you progress and the game offers some fantastic bonus rounds that are both fun and lucrative to play.

Sons of Anarchy

One more award-winning TV-based game here. This game was the most hotly anticipated new game of 2015 and it certainly did not disappoint. The game has 7 reels across and is 8 lines high giving you plenty of opportunities to match your favorite characters or symbols from the show. The bonus wheel section gives you access to a progressive jackpot that could buy you your own motorcycle!

Lightning Link

This is a cool online concept game that links four individual games together each giving you the chance to win the same progressive jackpot. The games are Happy Lantern, Magic Pearl, Sahara Gold, and High Stakes Las Vegas. It has free games feature with Megaspins and 2 different progressive jackpot features.

Sharknado

This may be the most “pure fun” game Aristocrat offers. The graphics are insane with sharks and chainsaws and celebrities everywhere. The 5-reel mechanics are pretty standard but the bonus rounds, including one where you chainsaw as many sharks as you can on the game’s touch screen, are incredible. If you love this cult-classic B-movie, you will have a very good time with this game.
