2022 Double Trouble Poker Series Kicks off at BetMGM

It is barely a month into the New Year and many gambling companies have already worked on their events calendar. For BetMGM, the dates have been fixed for the first online poker festival that will be hosted by the operator in 2022. The Double Trouble Poker Series will be open to BetMGM registered players in the three jurisdictions where the company has betting operations.

Scheduled to run for a total of ten days, players are in for a poker rollercoaster. The action will begin and end by the last day of January. Whether you will be participating in the Double Trouble action from Michigan, Pennsylvania or New Jersey, the line up of the games will be the same. The schedule comprises of 20 events and each of these will be played in 20 different versions; that comes to 40 tournaments taking place in each of the three states.

Players will play a standard format tournament as the first game in every pair of 20 events. The second game will be in progressive knockout format. Although the gaming experience will be uniform in the three states, there will be slight variations in the prize guarantee amounts.

New Jersey is the venue of the biggest series of the upcoming tournament – the 40 tournaments have a total prize guarantee of $364k. Next in line is Michigan where the guarantee has been set at ($334k. Pennsylvania is slightly lower since the guarantee here has been pegged at ($324k. The low guarantee for Michigan and Pennsylvania is not surprising since the online poker rooms there have only been running for a few months.

To a large extent, the events which have been featured on the schedule are catered to all manner of players. 24 out of the 40 tournaments have been marked with a buy-in of $50 or less. High roller players have also been accommodated in these tournaments since the price points go up to $535. If you fear being kicked out of a series before you can showcase your talent, the Double Trouble Series already sorted out your case – players can rebuy into a tournaments as many times as they want provided the game is still ongoing.

All the tournaments are No-Limit Hold’em but events #10 and #17 are going to excite Omaha fans. These two events have 4 chances of combined play to try their hand in PLO.

The schedules in detail

The events of the Double Trouble Series will kick off at the same time in the three states. The first event will be an NLH tournament that will cost players $109 to contest for a guaranteed cash reward of $10,000. The fact that the first event is going to create such a bankroll shake up for some players makes it one of the most outstanding in the tournament.

Another major event of the BetMGM Double Trouble Series will be played as event #5. In PA and MI, the tournament will cost $215 and offer participants an opportunity to bag a guaranteed $25,000 guaranteed; New Jersey players will be battling it out for $30,000.

If you are confident about your strategy in poker, you might want to consider buying into event #9. A buy-in of $535 to a NLH tournament will obviously put off a lot of people. This will leave you with a few opponents in contesting for the guaranteed price of $15,000 (uniform in all states). The organizers have not indicated which of the events on the schedule is the Main Event but January 30 seems to hold a clue. The tournament has a buy-in of $215 and a prize pool of $25,000 in Michigan & Pennsylvania and $30,000 in New Jersey

Thrill and heat gaining up on BetMGM series

BetMGM Poker is gradually building a reputation as a host of poker games with generous guarantees. Talking of popularity, the operator has in the last 2 months organized and successful paid out participants in 4 online poker festivals.

The mention of Darren Elias will stir u memories of the poker series held in November that had large prize pools for the Main Event. At the end of the competition, New Jersey was left with a profit of more than $42,000.

The second event was the Cheap Stakes Series which was widely publicized because of its attractive low buy-in budget. Taking place over the Christmas period increased its popularity especially for people who wanted to spend the time indoors.

Even before the heat of the Cheap Stakes Series had won down, BetMGM had unveiled another tournament which was dubbed partypoker US network’s New Year Knockout Mini-Series which lasted throughout the New Year festivities.

Faced with a market that is opening up rather slowly, BetMGM is struggling to make a lasting impression in the markets that they have already set up in. Nevertheless, the management of the brand has been relentless in efforts to offer tournaments that hold great returns for players.

Final Thoughts

The DoubleTree Series demonstrates yet again that betting houses are becoming generous with their giveaways. This will attract more players and casinos following this trend should be prepared for overlays. BetMGM is a pioneer of many initiatives in the gambling space. Apart from promoting the market with innovative ways by which operators can earn money, the brand is also committed to responsible gaming.
