BetMGM Hosts Bounty Blitz Knockout Series In Feb

BetMGM Poker has continued to keep its customers entertained by releasing yet another online poker festival titled the Bounty Blitz Poker festival. This online poker festival was dedicated solely to knockout tournaments, which have grown in popularity over the last few years. The Bounty Blitz poker festival was available to BetMGM Poker customers across its 3 markets starting from February 20th.

The Bounty Blitz saw poker players competing in the exhilarating KO poker formats for an entire week. Each day presented participants with 3 separate tournaments, as well as an array of buy-ins, the lowest of which started at $35 while the highest started from $1000. This was BetMGM Poker’s second online poker tournament series in 2022 for its customers in the US.

The Blitz Poker Fest was jam-packed with various events designed to keep punters entertained. Unlike other tournaments that BetMGM has organised, the Bounty Blitz festival allowed participants to compete for bounties in addition to the regular prizes that were on offer. Altogether, the festival promised $738,000 in guarantees across the 3 series held for players in Michigan, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey.

Both three states adopted a similar schedule of events, where participants enjoyed access to an array of buy-ins that ranged from $35 to $1,000, as discussed above. On each day, the participants took part in 3 tournaments that ran in the evening between 5 and 9. Most of the tournaments across the 3 states were almost identical in format, save for the guarantees.

Poker players in New Jersey enjoyed the largest share of the prize guarantee at $289,000. Players in Michigan, on the other hand, battled it out for a slightly lower guaranteed prize of $229,500. Lastly, Michigan poker players enjoyed the opportunity to get a shot at $219,500, which brought the collective guaranteed prize pool of the entire tournament to a whopping $738,000.

As is the norm with most online poker tournaments, the Bounty Blitz series would eventually wrap up the festivities with the Main Event. This tournament’s Main Event had a buy-in of $1,000, half of which was straight away directed to the players’ bounty. The New Jersey Main Event featured $75,000 in guarantees. Poker players in Pennsylvania and Michigan, on the other hand, battled it out for the prize money of $50,000.

To urge even more participants to sign up, players were allowed to secure their place in the major events for a lower buy-in by taking part in the satellites. The Satellites were available on the BetMGM Poker platform all through the knockout series. In addition to the satellites, BetMGM also allowed its customers to boost their bankroll by running a special promotion.

In the promotion, the operator gave participants daily free bets as high as $50 through its Pick-A-Card promo. For players to qualify for the promotion, they were only required to earn 25 loyalty points, which could easily be earned by taking part in some of the real money games available on the poker website. It is only after a player had earned 25 loyalty points for the day that they were qualified to take part in the prize draw free bet.

Once awarded, players could use the free bet as tickets in both cash games as well as tournament tables. This allowed many participants to replenish their bankrolls in the lead-up to the knock-out series. Bounty Blitz was the 5th series that BetMGM had hosted in 3 months, which is a testament to its commitment to keep its customers entertained at all times.

Bounty Blitz was MGM’s Poker’s second knockout tournament series in 2022.

At the start of the year, BetMGM unveiled its first online poker festival of the year, which it dubbed the Double Trouble Series. The series kicked off on January 21st and went on for 10 days in all 3 jurisdictions. Both the standard format and the progressive knockout format were featured in the tournament.

Each format had 20 events were scheduled on the BetMGM platform, which brought the total number of events to 40. Like in the recently concluded Bounty Blitz Knock out series, New Jersey enjoyed the largest guarantees across the 40 events at $364,000. Michigan and Pennsylvania had slightly lower guarantees, which is not surprising given that both states have only enjoyed BetMGM poker for a little under a year.

24 out of the 40 tournaments featured low buy-ins of under $50 while the larger bankrolls catered to higher price points of up to $535. Because of such tournaments with impressive guarantees, BetMGM has emerged as a top choice for many online poker players in all 3 states. Some of the other series that BetMGM has organized in recent months include the End Boss Series in November 2021 which included massive Main Event guarantees.

The flagship End Boss Series in the Garden State managed to generate more than $42,000. The End Boss Series was later followed by the Cheap Stakes Series, which was held over the Christmas period. The Cheap Stakes Series was created to cater to poker players with tighter budgets.  Afterward, the Cheap Stakes series was followed by the New Year Knockout series.

Final Thoughts

BetMGM has been working extremely hard to enhance its position in the market it operates, particularly in its newer markets- Pennsylvania and Michigan. BetMGM has only been operating in the Michigan and Pennsylvania market for a year having launched in March and April last year respectively.

As such, there is still a lot of room for growth. The good news though is that BetMGM has so far proven that it is up to the challenge. At present, its biggest rival in the three states is PokerStars, which has enjoyed a presence among punters for a much longer period.

Fortunately, if BetMGM keeps offering knock-out series and tournaments such as Bounty Blitz, the online poker site should continue to pick up steam among online poker players in the 3 states in which it operates.
