Fans of the Philadelphia 76ers will soon become very familiar with the Fox Bet app; that’s because the Stars Group, creator of the app, and Fox Sports are now partnered with the 76ers.
The Philadelphia 76ers are among the most storied teams in the National Basketball Association (which recently signed a sports betting agreement with DraftKings). The 76ers have won three World Championships, earned nine trips to The Finals and have made 49 playoff appearances over their 70 seasons of play.
Fox Bet’s partnership with the 76ers will drive popularity
The deal centers around building brand awareness of the app through the 76ers’ digital, traditional and social media assets. Under the agreement, FOX Bet will provide app users with near-live game replays on the 76ers Twitter account, as well as acting as the partner for the 76ers radio game broadcast on 97.5 WPEN. Likewise, FOX Bet will stream the 76er’s ‘hype video’ on the scoreboard leading into the fourth quarter of the home games. Also, the deal includes exposure for the FOX Bet app on courtside and LED signage, custom home game promotions, and much more.
Robin Chhabra, the CEO of Fox Bet, says the partnership with the 76ers is thrilling. “This partnership connects us with a very passionate and dedicated local fan base in a very unique way,” observed Chhabra.
However, Fox Bet Sportsbook is only the latest incarnation; it’s a rebranded version of the BetStars NJ app. The Stars Group’s launched this version in New Jersey late last August. The app is licensed under Resorts Digital, along with rivals Resorts sportsbook and DraftKings Sportsbook.
The Stars Group provides technology-based products for the world-wide interactive entertainment and gaming industries. Its various brands have millions of registered users worldwide. Collectively, their apps and online technology solutions are the undisputed leaders in online and mobile sports betting, poker, casino games, and other gambling-related products.
The 76ers draw fans in New Jersey and Pennsylvania
The 76ers are not the first Philadelphia sports team to partner with an online sports betting operator this year. The Philadelphia Eagles also signed a multi-year deal with Unibet Casino.
Like the Eagles’ fans, the 76ers have many ardent fans across the region, especially in nearby New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Fox Bet also operates in Pennsylvania, so naturally, those users in the Keystone State will create a larger pool of potential bettors.
The chief commercial officer for Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment, Adam Davis, gave his thoughts on this historic partnership:
“Fox Bet has consummately placed itself in a unique brand position in the US. It’s combined an experienced European sportsbook, with a long-standing and trusted media company. Now this affiliation with the 76ers endears its brand to the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and New Jersey sports community and market.”
Davis went on to say, “Recognizing the passion of the 76ers fan base, Fox Bet and our team are eager to amplify a multi-tiered activation attack by creating dynamic, digital content. This will continue to drive engagement with our brand, team, and league.”
Harris Blitzer Sports and Entertainment is headquartered in Camden, New Jersey. The company owns and operates not only the Philadelphia 76ers, but also the New Jersey Devils of the National Hockey League as well as others in the sports and entertainment world.
To celebrate the agreement, Fox Bet users in New Jersey and Pennsylvania will be given exclusive access to special offers and promotions in the early part of the upcoming NBA season. For example, fans in New Jersey and Pennsylvania who download and register with the FOX Bet sportsbook app will get $20 free play towards their first wager.
The 76ers are only 21 games into their season-long 82-game schedule, which means there’s still time to download Fox Bet to get the $20 in free play.
