Hard Rock Atlantic City’s veteran team members, veterans of Atlantic County, as well as Atlantic City leaders participated in a patriotic event honoring the nation’s military veterans. The event, hosted at the casino, featured frequent Hard Rock Atlantic City performer, Dionne Carole, singing the Star-Spangled Banner and God Bless America, honoring those who have served our country.
Seventy-four veterans work at Hard Rock Atlantic City, and the casino has more than 32,000 customers enrolled in its Wild Card Reward’s Veteran’s Program. Those veterans are honored all year long, with special programs and events. For example, veterans in the Wild Card Reward’s Veteran’s Program receive a $20 resort credit, free parking, and a complimentary coffee and car wash at Rocktane Gas and Wash.

Veterans who presented their veteran ID card at the Borgata received $25 in Express Comps on their M life Rewards card. Veterans and their spouses visiting the Borgata also received 30% off services at The Salon, The Barbershop, and Spa Toccare. Ocean Casino and Resorts Also Honor Veterans
At sunset on Veterans Day, the logo and the iconic ball on the top of Ocean Casino Resort lit up in red, white, and blue to honor veterans and active-duty military. Ocean Casino Resort also created a Wall of Honor for its employees who served in the military. Throughout the day, veterans and active-duty military received free parking, free coffee, and a free, commemorative t-shirt.

About Veterans Day
Veterans Day always falls on November 11, the date of Armistice Day, the day fighting during WWI ceased. An Act of Congress, approved May 13, 1938, proclaimed that November 11, would be a legal holiday dedicated to world peace and to be known as “Armistice Day.” Veterans day coincides with modern Armistice Day celebrations in France, and Remembrance Day, celebrated in the British Commonwealth of Nations.
However, in 1954, following World War II and the Korean War, the 83rd Congress amended the Act of 1938 by replacing “Armistice” with the word “Veterans,” thus creating Veterans Day.
Veterans Day honors all of the military veterans who have served our country in war or peace, dead or living, and the holiday is aimed at thanking living veterans for their sacrifices. On the other hand, Memorial Day is intended to remember veterans who gave their lives for our country.
