Hard Rock International has extended its long-term partnership with Scientific Games to deliver its OpenGaming and OpenSports solutions across Hard Rock’s regulated markets across the U.S.
Hard Rock International recently mutually terminated its agreement to provide an online casino and sportsbook platform with Gaming Innovation Group (GiG). Unfortunately, the two companies were unable to come to an agreement that would support both company’s strategic goals.
Scientific Games Brings Hard Rock to the Next Level
Kresimir Spajic, Senior Vice President Online Gaming and Sports Betting for Hard Rock International, said, “We want to take our offerings to the next level and Scientific Games fits the bill perfectly. Scientific Game’s sports betting technology is second to none, and the launch of OpenGaming in New Jersey expands our already robust casino offering in the state. This is an exciting time for Hard Rock International as we bring even more entertaining casino experiences to our loyal customers.”
Jordan Levin, Group CEO, Digital for Scientific Games had this to say, “The Hard Rock brand is instantly recognizable worldwide and extending our partnership with them once again is testament to our products across iGaming and sports betting in the US. As head of the digital team, we have profound expertise across sports betting and igaming and we’re looking forward to working with the wonderful team at Hard Rock.”
Scientific Games to Launch with Hard Rock in New Jersey and Iowa
The first launch of Scientific Games under the Hard Rock license will be in New Jersey and Iowa. Scientific Games OpenSports platform will serve as the exclusive provider of the Hard Rock online sportsbook across those two states.
Hard Rock’s sports betting will benefit from a retail and digital betting offering combining the performance of the OpenBet engine with OpenTrade versatility, a full risk, and liability management service.
Additionally, the Hard Rock casino apps in New Jersey will use the OpenGaming platform. OpenGaming’s massive library of leading casino and slot games is supplemented with popular player features like free-rounds and tournaments. Finally, Scientific Games will manage Hard Rock’s player account platform.
A California Test-Run
Earlier this year, Hard Rock chose Scientific Games to supply and manage its full menu of casino management products, as well as the OpenGaming library of casino games for its newest property, Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Sacramento at Fire Mountain.
Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Sacramento at Fire Mountain has more than 1,800 slot machines and table games, all of which will be managed by the company’s full suite of products.
“Hard Rock International has enjoyed a longstanding partnership with Scientific Games. That trust is why we made the easy decision to choose their system for our newest property in Sacramento,” Jon Lucas, Chief Operating Officer of Hard Rock International said. “Their suite of advanced casino management solutions, as well as their massive portfolio of slots, table games, and utility products, enables the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Sacramento at Fire Mountain to offer its customers the best-in-class, unique experience that we strive for with all of our properties.”
“Scientific Games is proud to have partnered with Hard Rock for many years and we’re thrilled to support them with their latest casino, Hard Rock Sacramento, with our comprehensive range of casino products and solutions,” commented Robert Parente, EVP and Chief Revenue Officer for Scientific Games. “Through our cutting-edge casino management systems, player-favorite slots and table games, and strong and secure utility products, we’re excited about the opportunity to enhance the experience for Hard Rock Sacramento’s valued players.”
Teaming Up with Golden Nugget
In February, Golden Nugget agreed to expand its iGaming partnership with Scientific Games in a multi-product, multi-channel and multi-state agreement. Building on that long-standing partnership, Scientific Games will provide its casino solutions to Golden Nugget properties across multiple states through at least 2024.
The company will also supply Golden Nugget casino properties in New Jersey and Pennsylvania with its OpenGaming platform, and, as regulations allow, in additional states as they legalize iGaming.
Golden Nugget also chose the full OpenSports product suite. Golden Nugget’s launch of OpenSports began with mobile sports betting in New Jersey. More states will be included as they come onboard. Golden Nugget also an option to launch OpenSports in its retail sportsbooks across multiple states including Mississippi and Nevada.
FanDuel Partners with Scientific Games
Also in February, sports betting giant FanDuel chose Scientific Games’ technology for its sports betting and online casino platforms in the US.
Scientific Games agreed to provide the platforms in states where FanDuel is currently licensed, and in new states as they come online.
At the time, that news sent shares of Scientific Games soaring 8.2% to $26.87 on the New York Exchange, the largest gain since the previous November.
